Winchester
cleaning kits are made only with components worthy of the Winchester
name. Each piece in the kit is chosen based on its ability to
fulfill all types of cleaning needs, from light powder to heavy
fouling.
Winchester
cleaning kits use aluminum cleaning rods, whereas brass cleaning
rods tend to bend, break or pick up small metallic debris that
can scratch. The phosphor bronze bore brushes tightly attach to
the rod, using the accessory adapter. The brushes throughly and
safely scrub the bore. The 100% cotton patches remove lose debris
and provide even placement of the 3-in-1 cleaning, lubricatin
and protection chemical.
CLEANING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. IMPORTANT! ENSURE FIREARM IS UNLOADED!
2.
Assemble the aluminum cleaning rod. Make sure that the sections
are tightly and evenly connected. Any gaps or unevenness in the
rod could cause damage to the bore.
3.
Attach the accessory adapter to the end of the rod.
4.
Attach the proper size patch holder to the accessory adapter and
slide a 100% cotton patch through the patch holder.
5.
Saturate the cotton patch with the 3-in-1 oil. The oil will allow
you to clean, lubricate and protect your firearm in one simple
step.
6.
Slowly push the rod down the bore, patch first. If possible,
clean your firearm from the breach to the muzzle. If not possible,
take special care to keep debris out of the action.
7.
Remove the patch holder and attach the phosphor bronze brush in
the caliber or gauge that matches your firearm's caliber. Saturate
the brush with the 3-in-1 oil and run down the bore 5-10 times.
8.
Remove the brush and attach the patch holder. Run a clean patch
down the bore to remove loosened fouling. Continue this process,
using a clean patch every time.
9.
When a clean patch is produced, remove the patch holder and replace
with the respective mop. Lightly oil the mop and run down the
bore for protection in storage. Also lightly oil all moving parts.
10. IMPORTANT:
Before the firearm is fired after cleaning and storage, wipe away
any excess oils.
